We know baker's yeast mainly from bread, beer, and wine. But did you know that the same yeast could also play a role in construction? At ROOTS, we are constantly exploring emerging materials that challenge conventional thinking and push the boundaries of sustainable product innovation. Researchers have developed a fully bio-based, 3D-printable material by combining deactivated baker's yeast with wood fibres, alginate extracted from brown seaweed and plant-based glycerol.
