ROOTS X The Textile Eye

Excited to see part of the ROOTS Collection featured in ‘Materia Milanese’, the latest edition of The Textile Eye.

Published in California, The Textile Eye is an internationally respected trend intelligence publication that documents the emerging directions in textiles, interiors and material innovation. Each edition offers a carefully curated perspective on the ideas, makers and movements shaping the future of design, making it a valued reference for designers, manufacturers and creative studios around the world.

To see ROOTS included in this context is especially meaningful. It reflects the strength of collaboration and the diversity of the creative community behind ROOTS Exhibition. The publication includes the ROOTS installation through the LOADS Collection pillows presented on the Sleeping Beauty bed, the plant printed lampshades by workingbert (recipient of the Masterly Award 2026) and the distinguished Farming Textiles of artist Diana Scherer, a long-standing and valued ROOTS participant.

Seeing these works appear together in an international editorial dedicated to the ideas, materials and makers shaping today's design landscape is a wonderful acknowledgement of what ROOTS stands for. From the very beginning, ROOTS has been about bringing together designers, artists, makers and innovators who share a fascination for textiles, materials and craftsmanship. Every participant contributes their own perspective, yet together they create something larger than the sum of its parts...

It is inspiring to see this collective spirit recognised beyond the Netherlands and included in another international publication following Milano Design Week—the world's leading platform for design and material innovation.
