We are honoured to be featured in the latest edition of Journal of Biophilic Design, which dedicated 12 pages to an in-depth conversation with our founder Simone van Es. About her R&D with Silphium Perforliatum (Silphy), regenerative agriculture and the story behind ROOTS Exhibition.
The article explores one central idea: design begins with the soil. It reflects on the development of Silphy as a regenerative crop, the creation of Silphy as a bio-based sheet material and the broader cultural shift toward a material practice that restores ecosystems rather than depletes them.
The publication also highlights ROOTS Exhibition Milano. From the award winning "The Last Supper, From a Different Perspective" of last year to our growing international community positioning regenerative design not as a trend, but as a necessary evolution in architecture and interior design.
We sincerely thank Journal of Biophilic Design for the generous space, thoughtful dialogue, and the beautiful 12-page feature that allows this story to be shared in depth.
Together, we continue to grow a new material culture. 🌱
