We’re excited to share that New Dawn, the light object created for ROOTS Exhibition’s presentation at Milano Design Week, is now featured in ELLE Decoration. And a warm congratulations to architect and designer Aga Blonska on her first-ever publication in this leading design magazine!
For our “Last Supper — From a Different Perspective” exhibition, curated and initiated by Studio Simone van Es, we invited designer Aga Blonska to create a piece that embodied the ROOTS mission: pushing design forward through material innovation, supporting emerging talent, and developing objects that give back to the soil instead of taking from it.
In collaboration with 3DMZ | 3D Makers Zone (David van Rijn & Merel van Loon), New Dawn became a world-first: the first large-scale 3D-printed object made entirely from PHA, a fully compostable biopolymer generated by microorganisms. No toxins. No microplastics. A true return to nature.
At Milano Design Week, New Dawn rose above ROOTS’ 12-meter Last Supper table like a fragile, glowing beginning — symbolizing the shift from consumption toward regeneration.
Seeing New Dawn now photographed at The Frozen Fountain in ELLE Decoration feels like a powerful continuation of that story, and of the values Studio Simone van Es brings to the ROOTS Exhibition.
