WorkingBert
Luna Lamps, Printing with Plants
In his ongoing exploration of natural printing techniques and botanical patterns, wallpaper designer Workingbert brings together nature, craftsmanship and experimentation. Working with plants, natural pigments, paper and textiles, he creates unique ecoprints that reveal the beauty of organic forms and unexpected impressions.

For Roots' Last Supper presentation, Bert created a series of botanical works on rag paper and linen, adding delicate textures and natural storytelling to the setting. His creative journey with Roots continued with the premiere of his Luha Lamps during our Sleeping Beauty presentation. These poetic creations later found their way to the Roots Embassy during GLUE Amsterdam.

Most recently, Bert created new ecoprints for new Luha Lamps for our Bed Time Stories presentation in Amsterdam, continuing our shared fascination with natural materials, traditional techniques and contemporary design. His work is a playful experiment with iron water, steaming, pressing and natural tannins from ingredients such as pomegranate and henna. Through this process, plants leave their distinctive traces on natural textiles and paper, resulting in layered compositions in which every leaf, colour and imprint tells its own story.

For Workingbert, these botanical experiments are also the starting point for something bigger: the development of large-scale, circular, natural and sustainable wallpapers. An inspiring approach in which nature is not only the source of inspiration, but also an essential part of the making process.
