Within ROOTS – Sleeping Beauty, a Symbiotic Symphony, Bionic and the Wires reveal a hidden layer of life. Where sound, soil and living organisms are deeply interconnected.
Using custom-built bionic arms, they translate the bio-electrical signals of mushrooms and plants into sound and visual expression. These signals (originating in roots, mycelium networks, and living tissues) carry information about environment, moisture, touch and change. What is usually unseen becomes audible, visible and experiential.
In this symbiotic system, plants and fungi are not passive. They become active contributors—guiding instruments, influencing movement and shaping compositions. The result a living symphony: responsive, evolving and rooted in the intelligence of the natural world. Here, the soil is the source.
