Woven Skin
Alongside Forkrangers' presentation Claudy Jongstra’s monumental installation Woven Skin combines hand-felted wool and steel into a living architecture of color and ecology. Dyed with plant pigments grown on her biodynamic farm, its palette bridges Dutch color traditions and regenerative futures, revealing beauty born from biodiversity and craft.
Regenerative Craft & Material Ethics
Each panel of Woven Skin is made from the wool of Drenthe Heath sheep and botanically dyed with madder, woad, and walnut — materials cultivated through soil-restoring farming. This ecosystemic approach stands in direct contrast to the global agro-industry built on deforestation, animal cruelty and the massive scale of industrial beef and dairy production that fuels Amazon loss like we show here.
Among our rainforest plants, Woven Skin forms a tactile dialogue with Fork Ranger, who visualize how our diets impact the planet. Together they expose the hidden cost of our food system while pointing to a plant-based, regenerative path that nourishes both people and the earth.
